Experience Limited Time Magic at Disney World!

Giant Ice Castle in Times Square Kicks Off ‘Limited Time Magic’ at Disney Parks

It’s a busy year at Disney World with the opening of the newly expanded Fantasyland and now Disney has introduced “Limited Time Magic” which will feature experiences with an extra sprinkle of Pixie Dust at both Disneyland and Disney World.  Here is some of the coming magic!

  • True Love: Celebrate romance and enchantment throughout Valentine’s Week with special moments and entertainment geared to lovebirds. Disney Princes join their Princesses to meet park guests in special settings, prix fixe menus turn up at select restaurants and Valentine’s collectibles will be offered for the week.
  • Independence Week: It’s red, white and blue as Disney Parks salutes America with a 4th of July Fireworks Party — for an entire week, with patriotic lighting bathing the Disney castles on both coasts. Mickey Mouse appears in his patriotic finest and guests will find special USA shirts, Ear Hats and other limited-edition souvenirs.
  • Long Lost Friends Week: Lesser-known Disney characters will move from the shadows to the spotlight meet-and-greets on both coasts. Photo opps with characters that could include Flik, Clarabelle Cow, Remy, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum will surprise and delight guests. And Disney guests even have the chance to vote online for which characters they want to see.
  • Pirate Week: Why talk like a pirate one day when you could celebrate these scalawags all week long? The adventures of Jack Sparrow come to life like never before during a bicoastal buccaneer bash in which Disneyland and Walt Disney World become pirate-palooza: pirate bands, pirate meet-and-greets and more.
  • Dapper Dans Sing Boy Bands: The Dapper Dans, the iconic quartet fromMain Street, U.S.A., will add a special finale to their show, claiming the title of the “Original Boy Band” and delivering a medley of hits from One Direction, *NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys.
  • Unleash the Villains: Friday the 13th in September 2013 is a special day, so Disneyland park andDisney’s Hollywood Studios are staying open until the 13th hour (1 a.m.). Maleficent, Captain Hook, Jafar and other Disney Villains host a dance party, complete with limited-edition collectibles and other nighttime mischief.
  • Golden Horseshoe Revue: The fabled Frontierland show returns to Disneyland park for one month only, bringing back the corny jokes and enduring songs that were often enjoyed by Walt Disney himself.

This is just a sampling of the extra special magic in store for 2013.  I think I’m ready for Long Lost Friends Week…and Pirate Week!  Are you ready to plan your Disney World or Disneyland vacation?  Email Diana at diana@beyondcastles.com or call/text her at 740-953-0373.

Is the Disney Dining Plan Really Worth it?

So you are wondering if the Disney Dining Plan is really worth the money.  After all,  $53.54 per night per adult seems like an awful lot of money.  Could you really spend that much per person on food?  Yes, you really can and quite easily, too.  In fact, if you plan to take advantage of the amazing Disney Dining experiences and character meals, then the Disney Dining Plan can easily save you 30% over the cost of paying out of pocket.  Here’s an example of how it breaks down:

For stays during peak seasons the Disney Dining Plan cost is $53.54 per night per adult or junior (ages 10-17) and $16.02 per night for children ages 3-9. Seem like a lot?

Let’s see what you would pay if you paid out of pocket:

Breakfast — Bagel and cream cheese $2.59; Coffee $2.69

Lunch — Tacos de Carne $11.95; Soda $2.50

Dinner — Princess Storybook Dining $46.85

Total cost out of pocket:  $66.58

Total cost with Disney Dining Plan:  $53.54

Savings:  $13.04

Multiply that $13.00 savings by thenumber of adults in our party and the number of nights you are staying at Walt Disney World and you can save hundreds!

And don’t forget that your Disney Dining Plan will include a refillable resort mug which is a $13.99 value along with a snack for each night of your stay.  Add that to what you have already saved on your meals and you can see that having a Disney Dining Plan is definitely worth it.

Got a Disney Pin Code? Here’s How it Works

Disney Pin codes are being released!  Everyone gets so excited when that little flyer is delivered by the postal carrier or that e-mail appears in the inbox, but what, exactly, is a Disney Pin and how does it work?

Disney Pin codes are sent out to past guests in the hopes of getting them to book again.  These Disney Pins are special offers that will allow guests to save on a Disney vacation.  The offers can be anything from Free Dining to a certain percentage off the room rate.  These offers can be booked directly through Disney or with your favorite travel agent.

Who Can Use The Pin?

Disney Pin codes are specific to the guest to whom they were sent.  Before booking a Disney Pin offer, the agent will have to verify the name of the guest, address and ZIP code.  If these do not match, then the PIN is not valid.  Disney makes no exceptions to this.  However, this does not mean that you can’t share the love!  Most Disney Pin codes are valid for up to three rooms.  This means that if you’d like to take along friends or family, they can take advantage of the discount, too!  The PIN code holder must be the lead guest on one of the three reservations.

I am a past guest, but I didn’t get a Disney Pin.  What do I do?

Call Disney or your travel agent!  They can check to see if a PIN is available to you.  Oftentimes, people either don’t receive or accidentally discard their Disney Pin offer.  However, the offer is still in the Disney system and can still be accessed and used.

I checked, but there is no Pin available to me.  Why?  I am a past guest.

Being a past guest does not guarantee that a Disney Pin will be assigned to you.  The PIN codes are not offered to all guests.  Don’t take it personally.  Disney’s marketing folks offer the PINs based on your past reservations.  If you took advantage  of Free Dining before, they may offer it again.  If you love to stay at the Polynesian, they may send you the offer for 40% off Deluxe Resorts.  Just because you were not offered the current Disney Pin doesn’t mean you won’t be offered the next one!  Keep your eyes open and check back as new codes are released.

Can I use my Disney Pin with other discounts?

You cannot use your Disney Pin with other Disney discounts.  Disney allows only one discount per reservation.  If you book through Disney, you get one discount.  However, travel agents may offer an additional discount on top of the Disney Pin.  This is one of the occasions where booking through an agent can save you more than booking through Disney directly.

I’ve never been to Disney before so I won’t get a Disney Pin.  What can I do to save?

Don’t despair!  Often, a few months after the PIN is released, Disney releases a similar discount to the general public.  Again, here is where a travel agent can help.  Your agent will let you know about new Disney discounts as they are released.  Many times, the best discounts are not advertised by Disney!

The truth is that there is almost always a Disney discount available whether or not you have a Disney Pin.  You just have to know where to look!

Contact us today to save twice with your Disney PIN or to book the guaranteed best deal available to you!
